Research Interest Statement
Stephanie Robert’s research focuses on the relationships among neighborhood context, individual socioeconomic status, race, and health over the life course. Much of her work demonstrates how neighborhood context contributes to racial and socioeconomic inequalities in health. In new research, Robert is examining the public’s views on social and economic determinants of health and health disparities. Her work from a Wisconsin survey indicated that people are more supportive of addressing income disparities in health than in addressing racial disparities in health. She is also examining explanations for a recent reduction in racial disparities in infant mortality in Dane County, WI.
