Research Interest Statement
Sellers’ recent work involves three separate but related lines of scientific inquiry, namely: 1) understanding the intersections of race, gender and class as related to mental health; 2) identifying processes that connect race with mental and physical health; and 3) refining the goal-striving stress concept as related to mental and physical health. Sellers also is active in scholarship on the various ways in which social higher education can be seen as institutions that can either perpetuate or ameliorate societal inequalities.
