WISCER is a community for students and faculty devoted to investigating the social world through firsthand observation, interviews, and other qualitative methods. We strive to create a welcoming community where researchers can share work, discuss methodology, and learn together in community. We host a weekly Qual Methods Workshop, workshops, panels, guest speakers, and casual socials throughout the academic year. We are hosted out of University of Wisconsin–Madison’s Department of Sociology and Department of Community and Environmental Sociology, but our community is open to everybody regardless of departmental affiliation.
