Department emergency code
The department has an emergency code for use in a threatening situation (person who is angry and/or threatening or otherwise makes you feel unsafe) in your office. To summon immediate assistance, tell the student that you want to give them your full attention by calling the main office and having your calls held. Then call 262-2921 (main office number) and tell anyone who answers, “This is [your name] in room [room number], please hold my calls.”

*SEX OFFENDER INFORMATION*
The UW-Madison Police Department maintains an active list of registered sex offenders online. Those listed are convicted sex offenders enrolled or employed by UW-Madison. The information is supplied by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections. The list is updated regularly, and it is good practice to periodically view it and be familiar with it. *BANNED FROM CAMPUS*
For various reasons, there are a number of individuals banned from the UW-Madison campus, or banned from a specific building on campus. The UW-Madison Police Department maintains an active list of those individuals prohibited from campus. The list is updated regularly, and it is good practice to periodically view it and be familiar with it.
