SSCC Spring Training Schedule

All SSCC training sessions require preregistration. If less than three people have preregistered for a course one week prior to its start date, the class may be canceled. Click here to register for a session(s). You will be reminded about your preregistration through e-mail a day or two before the class begins.

Status of WordPerfect on UNIX

WordPerfect is back on UNIX. Type "xwp" at the prompt from any X-terminal logged on to any UNIX computer.

Address Change for Connecting to UNIX Disk Shares

SAMBA, the software that makes your Unix directories available to you on the PC network, has been upgraded. This upgrade will improve problems in communication between Wincenter and SAMBA that have been reported in the past. For details on these problems, see the article in the September issue of SSCC News.

There is also now a new path address for connecting to UNIX disk shares from your PC. Although the old address (\\norman\sharename) will continue to work indefinitely, you will get better performance by switching to the new path of \\sscunix\sharename. For example, for mcdermot to connect to her UNIX home directory, she would enter \\sscunix\mcdermot in the dialog box that appears when you choose Map Network Drive from the Tools menu of Explorer.
