How to Get the Latest when the System is Down
---------------------------------------------
If you try and log in only to discover the computer is "down", you
are welcome to call the Operator to find out the computer's status.
If the consultant is on duty, she or he also may have information.
Unfortunately, it is usually not possible to predict when a computer
will be "up" again but it is still worth calling; system people may
not even be aware a computer is down and you would be helping them
out by letting them know. It is also appropriate to call the
Operator if you are having difficulty dialing in through a modem
because of a busy signal or noisy line. Remember though, that the
Operator is NOT a consultant. Consulting questions should be
addressed to the consultant. The Operator's number is 263-4814.
The Consultant's number is 262-9917.
